Verkerk bloodlines everywhere on top...
Published 05/09/2010

Yesterday the national derby in Holland and the last national race Gueret in Belgium took place. Because our youngsters are too young for this race we did not participated in the derby.

Our bloodlines did very well on these races. It was nice pigeon weather with a north-east wind.

Rik Hermans (Pulle/Belgium) won in a bad position 9th and 12th National Gueret against 14.412 pigeons. Both were bred out of a Verkerk-pigeon. Both pigeons won top 30 national before and will be among the best youngsters in Belgium on these national races. The father of Rik (Jan Hermans-Waalre) won the 2nd National (sect.3) Chateauroux earlier this year also bred out of a Verkerk pigeon. In conclusion you can say it is incredible when you know that they only have 3 of our pigeons in their famous breeding loft and all 3 bred winners already.

In Holland Peter vd Burg & Aart de Waard won the 1st in section east (South-Holland) from Ablis against 7.626 pigeons. Also bred out of a Verkerk pigeon.

Ourselves did quite well again on St. Quentin (265km). We were suprised that our 1st pigeon was a youngster of the 4th round and was only 100days old. This young cock won prov.(east) 58th against 11.353 pigeons. 100 pigeons won a prize-card. In the thoughest combine of the entire province we had 12 pigeons in the top 100.

The 1st pigeon was bred out of Houdini x Olympic Stradivarius.
